According to experts from Matrixport, the price of Bitcoin could reach $100,000 by the end of January 2025, thanks to the potential creation of a U.S. strategic reserve in the cryptocurrency. The analysts believe that such a move would increase Bitcoin’s appeal to the government and large financial institutions, which would in turn positively impact its price.

The Role of SEC Changes and Political Reforms

Matrixport highlights that changes in the leadership of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) could have a significant effect on the development of the cryptocurrency market. The experts also point out that for cryptocurrencies to be widely adopted, at least 8% of the global population would need to use digital assets in their daily lives. In this context, political reforms that support cryptocurrencies would boost their popularity and legitimacy.

Institutional Investor Potential

According to the analysts, the proposal by the U.S. to make Bitcoin «digital gold» and establish a strategic reserve would increase its legitimacy in financial markets. This would open new opportunities for institutional investors, such as major corporations like MicroStrategy, which are already considering Bitcoin as a key tool for enhancing financial stability.
